Harvesting is fulfilled from November to January.
To be able to carry it out, the plant must be completely parched
and dry.
Afterwards, the aerial part is burned and after that, it is cleaned
from ashes and residues.
This process is performed mechanically.
The harvester consists of a cutter bar of two ridges width. It cuts
the soil that is crumbled by a sticks milling machine and it deposits
it in a siever drum that separates the soil from tiger nut, and
they exit from their back part, with residues of the plant, small
stones, etc. and they are carried with a band to the tractor hopper.
